I somehow happened to give an entrance for a group of top ranked Business Schools claims to be providing firm foundation for future leaders for years. Their motto could be put as "We Build Future Leaders Not Merely Managers". I was very excited to obtain a totally unexpected and tantalizing result in the entrance but I knew it was of no use. Adding to this tantalization a Business School came up with an offer saying "We don't wanna miss any efficient candidate affected by the misfortune in the entrance, so we consider his/her past academic record, especially we love kids and their schooling".
That was a delightful news for me, as I was a smart and chubby kid in my school days. So provoked optimism rekindled the hope of getting a fair and a positive result. As a first hurdle to this hope, the form to be filled didn't contain all the required fields I had to fill. I sent an e-mail requesting the same query and was astonished by their spontaneity and professionalism in the response, I thought " yes it is the place that produce real professional leaders". Finally the shortlist had arrived and a momentary ray of depression sparked in my mind as I couldn't find my name. I started figuring out where I went wrong but arriving at any conclusion seemed impossible. Being confident about their e-mail-professionalism I made an e-mail again, but this time reaction time had just bounced back to infinity. I tried various e-mail ids available in their site but all of them suddenly went dead. Regaining all the positivity left in me I did a few telephone calls that were either engaged or hooked. Just an answered call in 3 days with an unsaid reply "Get lost loser I gonna cut the call".
Recollecting the "vikramarka story" I moved forward to fill a form for some other top business school which kept the last year's portal to fill the details without any change (year of exam and a 2010 in foot note). I thought these so called busy managers wouldn't be having much time to look into minute details, I sent a request saying it was last year page, with a snap shot as an attachment. 5 days later I found that page with an updated foot note leaving the remains as it is reflecting their powers of observation and seriousness.
In a small city called Raipur, I attended an orientation of a small and relatively low ranked B-school. At the end of the session I raised a question "I graduated from one of the best colleges in India tell me whether I should join your college if I get through by any chance?". Reply was verily honest but surprising "Please do not join at any cost but do come, to gain some GD/PI experience".
As it is said "Nothing is as it seems". My code is simple 'just make yourself at home where ever you are and "be succumb to alteration by the principles but not by the place".
