When 'The wants' are vague 'Don't wants' become visible

The first ever question anybody comes across upon visiting somebody's home is 'what do you like to have tea or coffee?' Perplexed by just 2 choices a person thinks 'I prefer coffee but tea would be healthy' or 'I like taste of tea but I take coffee as I am little drowsy'. Finally he/she makes a decision 'All right I go for coffee'. Once the coffee arrives, just after 2 sips he/she thinks 'Oh!! god, I thought I would love coffee but it's not instant coffee instead it is filter coffee that I don't like much'. With a simulated smile on the face a reply comes 'Oh!! god, I never had such an amazing coffee in my life' while mind warns "Never opt for a coffee in this home again".

In the next visit to the same home, number of options boil down to just one.

Host: Would you like to have coffee??

A diplomatic reply goes with a grin

Guest: Oh!! I would love to but this time let me taste tea and judge which one should I go for next time.

Life can surprise the unlucky with a statement like

Host: Oh!! sorry dude we don't have tea right now. So as you like our coffee much I think you don't mind having the same.

Guest: No problem. That's quite fine with me. (Thinks: what a miserable life)

This is the way life is. We just can't perceive what we really like or most of the times they go wrong. But the best part is, a choice always leads to a conclusion either like/dislike. All one can do is make a choice and keep the choice in one of the two categories like/dislike.

I made a couple of choices in my life that guided me to wants and don't wants as below.

Don't wants:
  1. To be a President/CEO of a company, sitting in an AC glass chamber, perusing a big pile of papers or skimming through system all the time.
  2. A comfortable and peaceful life.
  3. Let superficial stuff like place, money or materials rule my life.
  4. A girl, beautiful but not compatible to my character.
  5. Afraid of anything including death.
  6. Break of a promise made.
  7. Can not live without something or someone.
  8. Luggage that curbs my mobility.
  9. Shoes that bite.
Wants:
  1. A job that makes me run, roam, read and write as well as challenging or life threatening.
  2. A busy and tiring life.
  3. A body that never tires.
  4. A heart that never withers.
  5. A couple of eyes that never shed tears in any amount of pain.
  6. A girl, inspires but not impedes (needs 100% luck).

"Yes, I carry a pseudo label" an open letter to my one and only f(oe)riend..

One of my friends and ex-room mate, having a distinct name (for me) disclosed an open secret in my RG session (where my friends share their opinions about me, with everyone) i.e with a little expurgation :), "He is a cool chap, putting peace all the time, not a fight putter at all, never wanted to get into IIT but did it to teach a lesson to a guy (with a name that of mine). Never mess up with him and especially beware of his ferocious punches on walls, but be confident while teasing because he can never hurt a living thing :P. Very kind-hearted, comes to you and asks whether you are fine, even if you oversleep :P."

Someone or the other reminded me of this incident buddy, by the way thanks to the nick-name system at IITM because of which I don't have to call you by your real name. As you know I am no way in touch with the guy you mentioned but there is much I got to tell him. Here is an open letter to him.

To

My F(oe)riend,
Some street,
Some place,
Some city.

Sub:- Your statements were absolutely infallible, I carry a Pseudo label over my head.

Hello buddy. How are you doing? I don't know where you are and I don't want to know as well. I am quite sure you would be eager to hear anything from me. I will ensure that you don't need any spies anymore.

I am here, in a no man's land doing nothing great, nothing productive and nothing lucrative. Do you remember the day you laughed at me for a relatively reasonable time when I misinterpreted the meaning of 'pi'? You said with your mocking smile "Do you deserve to be here?". I must have listened to you before coming this far dude. I always liked your smile dude, which is heart-breaking for gals, which has taught me how to read, which has taught me how to stay awake while holding a book, which reminds me of the fact you expressed.

I couldn't realize that fact until I get into IITM, where I happened to be a  part of people as brilliant and as smart as you. I told myself "I have fallen into a sizzling furnace from a simmering griddle". I never stood even 3rd from the bottom of the class there buddy, never been to abroad, couldn't get a decent job but I started making some good and real friends. Had I learnt some tactics from you, which could have helped me to get abroad chances/internships (as most of my friends got) but you know I am adamant. I stick to what I am, forgetting the fact that long-term is the combination of short-terms.

Now everybody including myself, knows that fact "I carry a pseudo label, which I really don't deserve pertaining to my standards". I lost people I loved, I couldn't have the only person who must have felt extremely happy and proud, during my convocation. I am losing regularly. Still I will be trying for something I don't deserve buddy, something out of my range, I should be grateful to your smile always. I know it is too late to express, but still thanks a tonne buddy. Without you I couldn't have got any label (Pseudo/Real). I always miss your smile.

In contrary this time I would like to convey a fact "I lost, I lost, I lost" dude.. You were right.

With warm regards,

K. Lokesh.

"Classification of Couples, An Articulation"/Answer to "Y am I still single?" (కలయికలు రకాలు)

(I)                              Class I

A matured man must be like a mountain, that doesn't fall for alluring beauty of rivers for their twists and turns in their bodies. And rivers, ravines and lakes with their beautiful shapes and looks, can't reach the peak of the mountain. If any of these beauties of rivers want to reach the peak (head) of the mountain they have to struggle the heat of the sun to get elevated to the level of comely clouds. Such a union of magnificent mountain with a comely cloud delights this world with a shower, produces rivers, waterfalls and becomes a major cause for the existence of life.

(II)                           Class II

A charmed man fallen for beauty is like a solid rock resting at the shore of a lavishing river. No river has to elevate herself to the level of clouds to reach this rock as her fabulous flow of beauty is more than sufficient to reach him. He looses his glory constantly as the rock gets eroded day by day. Even the purity of the river is smeared by the deposits of the rock particles. Such a union is adorable to watch and adds salts to the ocean without which no food gets the taste.

(III)                         Class III

But some are like petty pebbles, that are neither reached by the comely clouds nor can resist the current of the gorgeous river. These pebbles got 2 options 1) Toil over the mountain to reach the peak or 2) Fall for the beauty of the river and get carried away by the flow or be a part of a riverbed.

Clouds don't want to reach me and I don't want to be a pebble that opts for the 2nd one.

Intangible n Implicit Wishes

I wonder the paradox of asking the innocent children what had they asked that almighty while most of matured are neglected.  I heard from many people that wishes will not come true if they are revealed. But I am going to reveal them because they can't be seen, they can't  be touched and they can't be revealed though they come true. Nobody can predict  my acquisition including myself. Note that this isn't my answer to the question 'five things without which I can't live?'... These are my prayers, unwavering against any obligations/conditions hoping the disappearance of the deity :)

1) Strength of a Soldier

2) Mind of a kid

3) Creativity of a poet

4) Brain of a true IITian

                          last but not the least
5) Valor and Perseverance of a Warrior....

Perhaps these wishes might look extravagant but the count was just five. The master doesn't have to get panicked because unlike him I don't want to be eternal. Neither I have asked for power, popularity,  property or peace. If they seem childish to anyone let me clarify further "I ain't a kid" and nobody has ever enquired about my wishes. If they still appear childish, I don't mind being a kid in his/her views. "Prayers you do for others will have a better chances of occurrence than prayers you do for yourself". So I leave this message hoping to reach  the hands of someone (if any) that prays for me wholeheartedly.

My view of a POWER sector

Abstract: As power is an essential commodity, with more demand investment bankers serving the rich, investors, politicians try to make their best out of it. The perspectives of investors, politicians are different but that could be served together in the process of making money and fame. Consultancies, Insurances get fed in the process. Two major issues that are overlooked 1) Process of Production 2) Responsibility towards future generations.
                                                          - - - - - - - -

Power is what drives every moment and movement of this world. So this has become an essential commodity besides the famous three Food (Roti), Clothing (kapada) and House (Makaan).  As the saying in business goes "If you are afraid of commencing a business start with essentials which need small investments".  So what should a well established businessman aim at if he/she doesn't want to take much risk but can make huge investments?? The answer is simple, invest in Power Sector.

Any production requires a source to produce and a resource/s to consume. The most consumed natural resource to produce power is so called Coal. So provided the abundance of coal any potential investor can establish the source 'a Power Plant'. What else could be a better and possible way for the government or politician/s in order to make the most out of this sector than capturing coal mines.

Investors and politicians have their own perspectives. Former strive to manifold his/her money while the latter strive to build his/her empire (mostly dark) apart from making huge money. The common perspective in both of them is "They (most of them) don't bother the means of achieving their objectives". Investor is defined as "a powerful vampire that sucks anything that smells like money". Money is the common form of all resources, valued based on its demand, characteristics, beauty and availability. That means without resources money is merely a paper or a metal. So the strive exists for this common form "money".

The fact and responsibility that has been overlooked is what happens if we become excessively extravagant in spending that would make our future generations resource-less? We cut trees, burn coal, produce power with an efficiency of less than 40%, build homes and use air conditioners to comfort ourselves from heat whereas we can sit under the same tree and relax, which is harmless and healthier.

Politicians work very hard for country's development (economic) but the only problem is the fruits of development is completely savoured by them. They use the most powerful anesthesia called "patriotism"  to capture and motivate people to feed them (for country). I happened to attend a politician's speech in Hindi that went like this "Hum Kuch Bhi Kar Rahe He Dhesh Keliye Hi Kar Rahe He... Ooo Driver Gadi Dhesh Ko Aage Badaane Keliyee Chala Raha He... Yee Security Vaale Dhesh Ki Raksha Keliyehi Kaam Kar Raha He" (whatever we are doing we are doing it for our country. Truck drivers drive to take India ahead. Security people work to protect our country).

A good speech had a loud round of applause but I got a few questions. If so as he said "Why is the driver getting 3.5k per month and security guards much less than that, while he is getting more than a few crores per month? He roams in a chopper while drivers and security people don't even have a bicycle? I am quite sure everybody knows the answer including him.. The answer is most probably what I said "Hum Dheskeliyee Kar Rahe He Lekin Ush Kaam Ka Phal Me Khud Lelunga" (Yes we are doing everything for the country but most of the outcomes will be taken by me).

So investors collaborate with politicians for coal to generate more and more money while in the process politicians also gain considerably. He builds a plant on his name and claims it makes the people's life brighter. But more than 90% of the power is spent on making money and 90% of villages having huge amounts of coal reserves suffer power cuts. If a forest is full of cows and goats, it is wolves and vampires job to ravage them. So as long as people awareness and moral standards are meager, plundering of people's resources is bound to happen. Our team, Engineers, Leaders all serve as a feeding system to these wolves and vampires. Investment banking, Consultancies, Insurances act as small scale intermediate consumers of this feeding system.  But only thing that bothers me is I also became a part of this feeding system. Hope I can show this world a better class of businessman in the future.
